Recently a couple recommended a book to me by Chaplain, Major General Robert Preston Taylor, Days of Anguish, Days of Hope, published by Doubleday & Company, 1972.

In it the author described details about the war, the “Death March,” and much more. As I read through the chapters and envisioned all the things he experienced, there were a couple of lines that especially grabbed my attention: “God, you brought me here for a purpose. Help me to be up to it.”

Today, at this very moment, in whatever you’re going through, don’t quit. Lean into God with everything you have and trust in Him for your next breath, your next decision, your next step… He is your constant Companion. (Psalm 23)
