This morning as I was getting ready, I accidentally caught my bracelet on a hook and broke it. It fell to the ground in several pieces.
And, amazingly, (as only God can do), right as this had happened, and I was bending down to pick-up the broken pieces, I thought of all of you – “Has something, dear to you, ever been broken…your heart, your marriage, your parents’ marriage after years and years of being together, etc.?”
Immediately, as these thoughts drifted through my mind, a truth that David, the Psalmist discovered, came to me: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken spirit and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise” (Ps 51:17).
I gingerly urge you to keep trusting … In His tender mercies, He’ll put things back together from the inside out.
