A hearty THANK YOU I send to every single one of you who had a part in the “Decade of Celebration, 2002-2012”!!!
I thank GOD for your presence, your words, your non-verbals, your prayers, your email, your cards, your notes, your thoughts, your remembering, your going-out-of-your-way…I give thanks for you!
Here are the words on the front of a Max Lucado card someone gave me that day: “There are things only you can do, and you are alive to do them. In the great orchestra we call life, you have an instrument and a song, and you owe it to GOD to play them both sublimely.”
At the beginning of her email letter, Dr. Mary Carlile, my TBI doctor while I was a patient at Baylor Rehab in Dallas, typed these words: “I was privileged to care for Patti when she came to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas following her tragic motor vehicle collision and resulting traumatic brain injury (TBI). I can still picture her in her cervical collar barely aware of her surroundings…”
As one of my dear friends reminded me, “We are not guaranteed tomorrow, but we are commissioned to love and live today as the Spirit leads.”
May each of us be fully alive!
3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.4 In every prayer of mine I always make my entreaty and petition for you all with joy (delight).5 [I thank my God] for your fellowship (your sympathetic cooperation and contributions and partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you heard it] until now.6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. (Phil 1:3-6; AMP)
