On a sticky note, I have these words written: “Persistence is a major part of the game.”
I wrote this within the first couple of years after the wreck had happened, as I was continuing to fight the long, uphill battle of trying to learn my new rhythm of living. Nothing came easily. In fact, it was exactly as some people described my therapy and rehabilitation – laborious!
A big, twenty-five-cent word, I know, but how accurate it is! No longer could I take anything for granted. Every single task of living demanded my complete attention…persistent, I HAD to be!
Here’s how Merriam-Webster defines “persistence” – the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people.
Please remember: persistence matters! Don’t give up; don’t lose heart.
